Duration of the workshop: about 6 hours

👉 What you will need:

  • A computer with a Docker
  • Virtual machine with pure CentOS 7 minimal - we recommend 2 GB RAM and 2 virtual processors
  • * Virtual machine with a pure trial version of Windows Server 2016 installed - we recommend 4 GB RAM and 2 virtual processors (* Optional for volunteers)

The choice of virtualization technologies (Vagrant, VirtualBox, VMWare, Hyper-V, KVM ...) is free, however in Windows 10, only Hyper-V can be used after installing Docker Desktop.

Virtual machines should be configured so that they can communicate with Docker and have access to the Internet. For this purpose, it is best to create an additional network interface that has access to a computer network and assign to it and machines static IP.

Hyper-V: http://blog.mpecsinc.ca/2015/02/hyper-v-set-up-internal-network-for.html

💻 Hardware requirements:

  • Min. 8 GB RAM; recommended 16 GB
  • 10 GB disk space (on Linux itself)
  • 50 GB (Linux and Windows)

Stay Calm And Refactor The Code

Have you noticed how many updates are there in recent years? Quality of code rapidly declines and we have ourselves to blame for it. Software developers have managed to convince us, that beta testing of an already published software is something normal. Haven’t we learned anything from dramatic and tragic history? Here are some examples and a direct link between yesterday’s negligence and today’s laziness.

Bias In AI – The Need For Lighting Up The ‘Black Box’

Consumers usually don't understand how GPS, Alexa, Siri or even Shazam works. That's unfortunate. Developers don't always know how AI works. That's a problem. When AI fails, like GPS often does, people end up with their cars in the middle of a lake. When an intelligent assistant fails, people are left with racism and sexism. It’s called statistical bias and here’s everything about it, including a glimpse at the solution.
